Sandy Fritz, MS, LMT is the Owner, Director, and Head Educator of the Health Enrichment Center, Inc., School of Therapeutic Massage. Also in private practice for almost 30 years, Sandy works with a diverse clientele, dealing with everything from stress management massage to physician-referred rehabilitative care upon physician referral. She has developed and supervises a student massage clinic with the Detroit Lions of the National Football League. She also provides professional sports massage and rehabilitation for individual athletes, primarily in golf, football, basketball, and baseball. Got this as a gift for my hubby who is bridge obsessed. He LOVES it. From what the reviews said, it has fabulous pics and I thought it was more of a coffee table picture book. wrong. its more about how all these bridges were built structurally. prob why hubby likes it. just wish it was bigger with better pics for the price.

This book was more than I expected when I ordered it! It is "coffee table" material that would draw most people's attention because of the dust cover, and is easy reading with great illustrations and explanatory drawings. The bridges used to illustrate the text are beautifully photographed, and wonderful examples of the types of bridges.

Wonderful book for pastry and dessert

I purchased this book after doing a considerable amount of pastry, breads, desserts, etc. This book offers hundreds of recipes, easy to follow, great photos, clear explanations. It is a must have for anyone serious about their collection of cookbooks, and for anyone searching for the perfect dessert recipe. Any one of the recipes can be used as a guide to creating your own inventions. I would highly reccommend this book, and it is pricey, but considering I am a passionate cook, this was a must have and a true reward for myself! Enjoy! [...]

Systems Engineering - A Good Introduction

Good introductory book on Systems Engineering, covering most important subjects (Introduction to Sys. Eng., Conceptual, Preliminary and Detailed Design and Development, and a nice chapter on Engineering Management).

In some figures it presents a process for engineering a system, along with explanation and examples. I enjoyed A LOT this approach.

Presents information on standards (MIL-STD-499B, IEEE-1220, EIA-632) and a brief overview of SEI's Capability Maturity Model for Systems Engineering (CMM-SE).

What I liked is that it is "straight to the point" and an easy to read book.

Downside: it has no exercises at the end of each chapter.

I recommend it for both students and practitioners.

This is the text used by the University of New South Wales to teach Systems Engineering. It is a practical text and a very useful reference book. For anyone involved with systems engineering, project management of technical projects, or government procurement activity of technical goods or services - this is a must read.

HCISPP: This book is all you need to pass!

I took and past my HCISPP (ISC2) certification. I used several books, but this one is far and about the best. It was complete, interesting and motivating. Sean Murphy know what he's talking about.

Excellent - this book covers all the bases!

An excellent book. I really enjoyed the way the material is developed. Unlike many books of this nature - where I find there is a lot of fluff - I thought that this book was dense with information and every page had relevant and interesting points. My copy has lots of underlining now, as well as tabs marking important areas that I will re-read. It's a great reference, very thoroughly researched.

Highly recommended book for preparing for the HCISPP®

Excellent book and great study material for the (ISC)² HCISPP® - HealthCare Information Security and Privacy Practitioner exam. I only had 8 days to study for the test, and three days were spent taking the (ISC)² classroom training, which left only 5 for self-study. I ordered Sean's book a week ago, got it last Friday, and read it cover-to-cover over the weekend. It's a great supplement to the HCISPP® CBK. The book covered a lot of ground in a readily digestible format, in some ways it was better than the CBK. At a minimum I recommend reading them in tandem. In summary, I highly recommend this book, particularly if you're planning on taking the HCISPP®. And yes, I passed the exam last night. Thank you Sean!!!

Hideyuki Kikuchi's third book takes manga form through the skilled hands of artist Saiko Takaki. She takes the reader to the thirteenth millenia, where every human lives in fear of vampires. It is a land of sorcery, science and universal use of black eyeliner.

Not to give too much away to those new to VHD, this manga's story is about a human girl that falls in love with a Noble (a.k.a. vampire) anyway, D gets hired to kill Mr. Pointy Teeth and the story goes from there. Throw is some rival hunters... including someone to fill the 'hot-yet-troubled-chick' archetype that is present in all of Kikuchi's work. Be sure to see a number of mutant villains to spice everything up.

The borderline porno sexuality is greatly reduced in this volume. Also the stern character of D is accuratley portrayed. However, as is to be expected from the medium used to portray the story, no inner conflict is perceptable behind the icy exterior of D.

All in all i give it five stars because amazon will not allow 4.5. it misses a perfect 5 because all of the faces look very similar, including in relation to the past two volumes, to each other.

It worked!

I have been fearful of asserting myself at work for quite a while now, but also recognize that I have lost out in some cases because I haven't been able to effectively assert myself. With this book, I feel much more confidant. There are lots of examples including specific dialogue on what to say in certain instances. As the author maintains, asserting yourself doesn't mean a nag or being overly aggressive or being someone that others don't want to be around. Instead it means being effectively assertive which is standing up for your rights without trampling on the rights of others. Who could argue with that?

Well Worth It

This book offers comprehensive information on how to speak up for yourself in a variety of circumstances. If somebody is deficient in these areas, it never hurts to learn new skills or return to the basics. My favorite chapters were the ones on being assertive at work and with your boss and with your coworkers. I also liked the ones on dealing with the government and being an assertive consumer. Those two chapters are probably the most valuable in the whole book.

Great Book

I was tired of being a doormat at work, so I picked up this book. Thankfully, it's loaded with types of situations in which I find myself and offers useful strategies for making my thoughts and opinions known. The author gives specific examples and specific language, which I like a lot. I've read some of the previous reviews, and I'm not sure what their beef is. There's more than enough information and strategies in this book to satisfy any novice sort of reader.
