About the Author
David Jaffee received his B.A. from University of Florida and his M.A. from Washington University in St.Louis, both in Political Science. He received his Ph.D. in Sociology from University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Jaffee has published articles on a variety of topics including international development, gender inequality, industrial location, organization theory, and instructional technology. He is the author of Levels of Socio-Economic Development Theory (Praeger, 1998). He is currently an associate professor of sociology at the University of North Florida.

Jaffee explains things well

This book was one (of many) required readings for a class this semester. I like the way Jaffee writes. His chapters are very well laid out and he is able to make his points in ways that are easy for the reader to understand. He also includes many charts and diagrams for visual learners like me. While I don't consider the topic of organizational theory to be thrilling, this book isn't a pain to read, unlike some of my other required books. If you are looking for a good book on organizational theory and/or the many conflicts and tensions within organizational processes, this book is worth picking up. I am sure that I will be citing Jaffee quite often in my end-of-term research paper.

A book for Grad School

I used this book for a class in my Masters degree. It arrived in decent condition. the book itself had some very compelling points, I learned a lot from this book.
